Week1: Project Management Institute

PMI's website (http://www.pmi.org/) states that they "serve practitioners and organizations with standards that describe good practices, globally recognized credentials that certify project management expertise, and resources for professional development, networking and community."  PMI helps their clients improve thier careers or businesses through assessment and training.  People around the world can recieve PMI credentials in several areas of project managment including:
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)

  • PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)

  • Program Management Professional (PgMP)

  • Organizational Project Management Maturity Model Certified Consultant (OPM3-CC)


  • PMI members are project managers all over the world.  A person does not need to be a member to recieve PMI credentials.
